The First Tot Topper
Way back before I had any idea I was going to professionally design anything, I wrote up the pattern for an adorable little hat that I sold on etsy. It was the first Tot Topper design, and until very recently (Master Charles has now stolen the slot), was still my most popular! I created it for Karin almost a year ago now, but she just sent me a few more pictures. Karin wanted the hat to use for her photo shoots, and then one of Karin’s friend photographers liked the hat and got a similar one for herself! Jodi’s pictures feature a hat with the biggest pom pom I’ve ever made. Its larger than a newborn’s head, too funny. It was also featured in our state paper last summer! Too funny. I love it and I’m so glad its now getting good use. Anyone who doesn’t want to feel all mushy inside need not look further at this post :)
I just couldn’t resist the chance to show off some of these pictures! If you’ve never noticed it before (now that its buried a little deep both here on the website, and on my designer page on Ravelry), check out the sweet Chunky Striped Stocking Cap. It only comes in 2 sizes because its made with super bulky yarn, but, as you can see by the toddler shown further down…the “3-9 month” size works for a variety of ages!

To make the “inside out” Chunky Striped Stocking as featured in the last few pictures, you can purl the first row after the color change. Other than that, its pretty much the same (except that I’m sure I wasn’t actually following the pattern while knitting so…the measurements are probably slightly different).
Thank you so much Jodi and Karin for sharing these pictures with me! I hope you’ll keep on loving the hats (and keep on sharing…hint hint ;)).
Kate they look so good!!! I LOVE THAT HAT!!!
I love those hats! The last one is really cute with the baby inside the hat.
